Irving Public Library now offers Lynda.com, a library of instructional videos to library card holders. Using your 14-digit library card number and 4-digit PIN, take courses on thousands of business, technology and creative topics.
The library's service is only available through the link above, and not by directly visiting the Lynda.com home page.
Although Lynda.com provides a mobile app, the library's service is only available by using your device's web browser. The library's service does not work with the Lynda.com app.
Once you've logged into Lynda.com, you must create a personalized Lynda.com account using your name and email address. This account allows you to manage your course history, playlists, bookmarks, and Certificates of Completion.
Many Lynda.com courses feature exercise files which can be downloaded to a personal computer and used with the software the course is about. If you're watching a tutorial about Microsoft Excel, you can download Excel spreadsheets through Lynda.com and work alongside the instructor.
