Financial status should not determine a student’s success in the classroom. To help ensure Irving students have every chance at success, the City of Irving, Irving Fire Department, Irving Schools Foundation and several other organizations team up each summer for the annual Supplies for Success Drive, which typically runs from mid June to late July.
For more than a decade, the drive has collected and distributed school supplies to Irving Independent School District (IISD) students from low-income families. Thousands of students benefit from the event each year.
Backpacks are the most requested item, but students need an array of supplies - from folders and notebooks to colored pencils. A current list of school supplies is available below and can be downloaded as a PDF. Donations can be dropped off at any Irving fire station during the summer drive, which runs June 13 to July 22.
