The Municipal Court’s role is to make formal judgments or decisions about violations of city ordinances and other minor crimes. Its six divisions are:
Can be paid online Opens a New Window. or by phone at (972) 721-3774, select option 3. (Note: Parking citations can be paid online or by phone, but the vehicle license plate number from the citation would have to be used for the search criteria.)
A fine is punishment and the court has an expectation that all fines and court costs will be paid at the time of sentencing. (Una multa es un castigo y la corte espera que todas las multas y costos de la corte sean pagados en el momento de la sentencia.)
Failure to handle your citation in a timely manner may result in the issuance of a warrant, denial of vehicle registration and submission of your case(s) to a collection agency where additional fees will be added.
Returned / canceled ("bounced") checks are handled by the Justices of the Peace.
