The Vice unit is tasked with the suppression of prostitution, human trafficking, illegal gambling, sexually oriented business violations, child pornography and other child exploitation offenses, and enforcement of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission laws governing the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
The suppression of illegal vice activities is accomplished through proactive investigations that stem from citizen complaints, surveillance, working with cooperating individuals and undercover operations. They also work with multiple federal agencies on larger investigations such as money laundering, narcotics trafficking and human trafficking.
