There are few (if any) institutions in our country today that offer the range of opportunities that public libraries provide to their communities. From digital literacy, to adult education, workforce readiness, early and family literacy, play groups for toddlers, book clubs, STEAM programming for students, the North Texas Teen Book Festival, and much, much more – these services and programs all contribute to our Library’s mission to improve the community’s quality of life by providing access to information for lifelong learning and by promoting the enjoyment of reading.
The Irving Public Library has a history of providing great library service to Irving residents, but public libraries must continually change to adapt to community needs. The next three years will be a time of assessing our programs and services and catching up to the changes in our community so that we can reach new heights in excellence. Onward and upward!
Cary Siegfried, Irving Public Library Director
