The City of Irving Auto Pound holds a Public Auction of vehicles considered abandoned by the Texas Transportation Code Section 683, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 18.17, and City of Irving Code of Ordinances Section 39.
All City of Irving Auto Pound Auctions are conducted in an ONLINE format and are facilitated by the contracted vendor, Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc.
Auctions shall begin on a Friday and close ten consecutive days later on the 3rd MONDAY of the auction month. Example: An Online Auction goes live Friday, June 12, and closes ten days later Monday, June 22. The listed dates are the closing dates for that month’s Auction.
Online Auctions are generally closed on the 3rd MONDAY of the following months: February, April, June, August, October, and December.
New Auction DATES: DECEMBER 29, 2023 - JANUARY 8, 2024.
The City of Irving Auto Pound may hold additional auctions as deemed necessary, which will be posted on this website and the City of Irving website.
The Auction “Preview” day allows prospective bidders/buyers access to the Irving Auto Pound Auction Lot to view vehicles and items in person. This “Preview” day is the first Thursday (the 7th day) after the Auction goes live and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The prospective bidder/buyer must first check-in at the front office and provide government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, identification card, or passport) for access to the secured lot. Persons must be 18 or over to access the lot.

Vehicles listed for auction will not be released without a court order once the auction has commenced.
Per the City of Irving Ordinance #3488, NO City of Irving employee or member of their family may participate in any Auction by Lone Star Auctions for any vehicle, item, or product being sold by the City of Irving.
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) prohibits vehicles from being removed from the auction lot without a TXDOT-certified tow truck or wrecker. Car dollies, tow dollies, and trailers are not allowed.
