I became an Irving Police Officer in December 2020. The Irving Police Department made the transition from being a Police Officer in the Los Angeles area to Texas seamless by offering a tremendous lateral program, quality benefits, and competitive lateral pay. I enjoy being employed by a department that maintains a good reputation with the community, multiple career advancement opportunities and admirable standards respected across the state of Texas. The people at the Irving Police Department and within the community have been nothing short of welcoming and friendly. Among many reasons, moving was inspired by the desire to have a better quality of life, better education for our children, and an affordable cost of living. As a matter of fact, my wife and I have more residual income now than we did in California. I am extremely happy with our move and regret not doing it sooner.
