My name is Sean Bissinger and I’m from New Rochelle, NY. I began my police career in New York in 1998 and was hired by the Irving Police Department as a lateral in 2008. The decision to move to Texas was a simple one for me. The low cost of living in Texas compared to the high cost of living in New York made my decision to relocate easy. Moving to Texas from New York was an adjustment, but I quickly assimilated thanks to the Irving Police family.
From the time I took the written test to when I was hired, I was treated with dignity and respect from the civilian level up to the Chief. I thought this was a way to attract candidates, but as time went on, I realized that this is what the Irving Police Department is all about. I immediately felt like part of the Irving Police Department family. The salary and benefits in Irving are attractive compared to the surrounding police departments in the area. A healthy cash flow allows you to take advantage of the booming economy that we are experiencing here.
One of the best parts of the city of Irving is the residents. They are very warm and supportive. They always remind us how much they appreciate their police department.
Joining the Irving Police Department has the best career move that I’ve made.
