Nicholas Carter #1262 NV

My name is Nicholas Carter, and I began my law enforcement career in Las Vegas, NV, in 2016. In 2018, I started looking into police departments in Texas. Irving drew my attention due to the size of the department and the things I heard about the training, equipment, benefits, etc. Throughout the testing/hiring process, I was treated like a person, not just a number. Supervisors and officers went out of their way to introduce themselves to me and to welcome me to Irving. Everyone took time out to get to know me and why I wanted to move to Irving. My background investigator went so far as to meet my family in person in Las Vegas to answer questions and assure them that I would be well taken care of in Irving. Throughout training and my time on patrol, I have been treated like nothing less than family by all. The department is big enough that there is room to grow yet small enough that you are not just a number. It does not take long to learn your way around the department. The training, equipment, and opportunities are some of the best I have experienced in law enforcement. I fully intend to retire with Irving and have had no desire to go elsewhere since joining IPD.
