My journey from the sports world to policing was not as easy of a transition as some others. Coming out of college, like most, I was unsure of what exactly I wanted to do for a career that could give me the same enjoyment I got out of football. At first, I tried to go the corporate route, working in an office pounding the phones, but shortly realized that was not for me. I felt as if I needed something that would allow me to interact with people outside of an office with a team atmosphere that was similar to a locker room. I then realized that I could have that and be able to help citizens by going the route of law enforcement. Since making that choice it has been one of the greatest decisions I have made in my professional life. My prior experience playing sports I believe has helped groom me for the current role I have in patrol by already knowing how to be a team player, accept coaching, and being able to help others in need when called upon. I believe law enforcement can be a great transition from the sports world and would recommend checking it out if you even have the slightest interest in it.
