Softball taught me about accountability and dedication. We were taught to treat every day as if we were wearing the uniform because, in the uniform we represent ourselves, the team, the coaches, and the school. So, when one person does something it reflects on all of us. You had people relying on you to be at your best so the team would succeed. It is the same principle but just a different uniform when you come to work for the Irving Police Department. After college, I applied to the Irving Police Department and was offered a job in the jail. where I had the opportunity to gain experience and confidence that would help me in the future. I was recently sworn in as a Police Officer. There is no doubt that my time in athletics and working in the jail has set me up to reach my goal of becoming an Irving Police Officer.
