My journey was a little bit different from most. Both have helped me tremendously in my career in law enforcement. I started in the United States Air Force in 2006 which was one of the best decisions I ever made. It helped me build self-discipline and set me up for success as a young eighteen-year-old. After my last deployment in 2010, I transitioned out of active duty to pursue a degree in criminal justice. I was fortunate to play college football at Utica University football from 2010-2013. I was not the traditional “fresh out of high school” football player as I was 22 years old. Thanks to my military career and fitness dedication, it became seamless. Playing football with my military experience set me up to become a leader for the guys on my team. All my experiences prepared me for where I am today. The development of team comradery, dedication, and selfless service were all vital to becoming a police officer for the City of Irving.
