HUD Income Guidelines
Effective June 2022, Median Income is defined as the middle income level at which one-half of all households in the community earn the money, and one-half of all households earn less. The median area family income is estimated by HUD on a local basis, and is further broken down according to family size. HUD updates these income limits annually.
- Extremely Low Income: 30 percent of the area median family income or below
- Low Income: 50 percent of the area median family income or below
- Moderate Income: 80 percent of the area median family income or below
