Home Chemical Collection

The City of Irving, along with Dallas County, offers a free service for Irving residents to dispose of home chemicals. 

Residents are required to provide proof of residency and must obtain a voucher by calling (972) 721-8059. A limited number of vouchers is available for each event.

Collection of auto battery, tires and other items considered hazardous household waste.

Events are held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Briery Municipal Complex, 128 N. Briery Road. Visit the Solid Waste Services' Calendar of Events for specific dates and other details.

Residents who are unable to attend a collection event may take the acceptable items to Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center.

  • Aerosol sprays
  • Automotive fluids and oil filters
  • Batteries of all kinds
  • Chemical products for home use
  • Computers and cellphones
  • Craft and hobby supplies
  • Fluorescent light tubes
  • Household cleaners and polishes
  • Lawn and garden chemicals
  • Paint and home repair products
  • Pool chemicals

Items Not Accepted

  • Appliances, televisions or microwave ovens
  • Business or commercial waste
  • Common trash or recyclables
  • Construction debris
  • Containers larger than 5 gallons
  • Explosives or ammunition
  • Medical waste
  • Radioactive materials
  • Shock-sensitive materials
  • Smoke detectors
