Choosing Irving

The City of Irving provides a number of local incentives to attract business and support quality development. Targeted projects focus on areas, including: downtown revitalization, retail and commercial, residential development, to traditional industrial and manufacturing incentives.

Additionally, the State of Texas provides services that are conducive to a vibrant economy through Texas Wide Open for Business.

Heritage District Redevelopment Programs

The multifaceted vision for the Heritage District involves the area becoming a premier destination for residential and business use. When the vision is fully realized, Irving's Heritage District is expected to feature public art, as well as living, shopping, dining and recreation opportunities.

Corridor Enhancement Incentive Program

The Corridor Enhancement Incentive Program is a matching grant program to encourage private investment in the renovation and rehabilitation of existing building sites along commercially developed streets and thoroughfares within designated areas of the city. The program provides financial assistance in the form of a grant to nonresidential property owners for improving the street-side appearance of their existing buildings and site features to enhance corridor appearance, attract new business activity and foster new employment opportunities in Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2.

Complete the Corridor Enhancement Incentive Program Application (PDF) to be considered for the program. All applications are subject to available funds and approval of the Irving City Council. Applicants receiving notice of award through this program will execute an agreement with the city on a form prepared by the City Attorney’s Office.

Downtown Sign Enhancement Incentive Program

The Downtown Sign Enhancement Incentive Program is a reimbursement program up to $5,000 to assist retail and commercial property owners in removing existing pole signs and deteriorated wall, projecting or monument signs and replacing with new signs that meet city regulations and support the vision for the Heritage Crossing area. The intent is to improve the street-side appearance of the existing shops, restaurants and businesses to enhance downtown appearance, attract more business activity, foster new employment opportunities and promote tourism.

Complete the Downtown Sign Enhancement Incentive Program Application (PDF) to be considered for the program. All applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to available funds. Applicants receiving notice of award through this program will execute an agreement with the city on a form prepared by the City Attorney’s Office.

Downtown Façade Enhancement Program

The Downtown Façade Enhancement Program is a reimbursement program up to $25,000 to assist retail and commercial property owners in restoring and enhancing the façade of their existing buildings in the downtown area. The focus of the program is to promote private investment in the street-side appearance of the existing shops, restaurants and businesses to improve downtown appearance, attract more business activity, promote tourism and bring building facades into code compliance.

Complete the Downtown Façade Enhancement Program Application (PDF) to be considered for the program. All applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to available funds. Applicants receiving notice of award through this program will execute an agreement with the city on a form prepared by the City Attorney’s Office.
