Aug. 1: City of Irving Short-Term Rental Ordinance
In recognition of the popular short-term lodging option for visitors, Irving has implemented a program to require all short-term rental (STR) owners and operators to register with the city. The program is intended to help protect the quality of life in Irving neighborhoods by ensuring the city has contact information for STR operators in the event of an emergency, code enforcement issue or other scenario requiring city assistance.

June 29: City of Irving Independence Day Celebration
Irving’s Sparks & Stripes event feature parade, live music, water show and fireworks. Sparks & Stripes is the theme for this year’s Irving’s Independence Day celebrations happening Monday, July 4. The city will start the day at 9 a.m. with a parade in the Irving Heritage District followed by live music and fireworks at 6 p.m. at the Levy Event Plaza, 501 E. Las Colinas Blvd.

June 1: Irving's Toyota Music Factory Moves Under Brookfield Portfolio
The City of Irving has a new partner to manage the Toyota Music Factory project located in Irving‘s entertainment center. On May 18, the Irving City Council approved the transfer of operations to a company under the umbrella of global property asset manager Brookfield Asset Management.

May 18: City of Irving Revitalizes Williams Square Plaza and Iconic Mustangs of Las Colinas
The newly renovated Williams Square Plaza featuring the iconic Mustangs of Las Colinas is set to reopen after being under construction for the past year. The Mustang Museum, also located in the plaza, will reopen later this year. The city is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. at Williams Square Plaza, 5217 N. O’Connor Blvd. The event will debut Irving’s $7.8 million investment to revitalize Williams Square Plaza and the Mustangs of Las Colinas.

April 12: City of Irving Hosts Open House for Police Chief Finalists
The City of Irving has announced six final candidates for the Chief of Police position after considering over 30 well qualified individuals. The public is invited to meet the Police Chief candidates at a community open house on Monday, April 18 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Irving Convention Center, 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd., 4th floor reception area.

Feb. 16: City of Irving’s Frost Fest Returns Feb. 19
Grab your winter gear for fun in the snow during the City of Irving’s Frost Fest event Saturday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s free winter festival will include an ice carving demonstration, free train rides, crafts, photo station and DJ, in addition to snow tubing and a play area. The family-friendly event will take place at the Levy Event Plaza, 501 E. Las Colinas Blvd.
