The holiday season in Irving officially begins on Dec. 2 with the Holidays at Heritage: Parade and Tree Lighting at Heritage Park, 217 S. Main Street. The festivities continue throughout the month of December with several events scheduled.

The City of Irving’s Fleet Department won the silver award for efforts taken to reduce petroleum use and improve air quality. The Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition, as part of its annual Fleet Recognition Awards, recognized Irving along with 23 local fleets. This marks the sixth time Irving received the recognition.

The City of Irving and the Mustangs of Las Colinas Museum and Visitor Center mourn the passing of world-renowned sculptor, Robert Glen, who passed away at age 83 following a short illness in Cork, Republic of Ireland on Saturday, October 28, 2023. A dear friend to the City of Irving and maker of the City’s most recognizable landmark, the Mustangs of Las Colinas, Glen was an incredibly gifted artist and champion of African wildlife conservation.

The City of Irving, TX and Grow America are proud to announce a partnership with Women’s Business Council - Southwest (WBCS) to act as the Small Business Recovery & Resiliency Program lead service provider. As lead service provider, WBCS’ role is to work with selected applicants and conduct intake sessions to recommend business services tailored to their needs. These services include (but are not limited to) business training, website development, marketing, and accounting support.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund announced the City of Irving’s Public Safety Wellness Unit (PSWU) as the winner of the 2023 National Officer Safety and Wellness Award in the category of Comprehensive Wellness. The PSWU will accept the award in September during the organization’s annual ceremony in Washington, D.C.
