Nov. 14: Famed Mustangs of Las Colinas Sculptor, Robert Glen, Dies at 83
The City of Irving and the Mustangs of Las Colinas Museum and Visitor Center mourn the passing of world-renowned sculptor, Robert Glen, who passed away at age 83 following a short illness in Cork, Republic of Ireland on Saturday, October 28, 2023. A dear friend to the City of Irving and maker of the City’s most recognizable landmark, the Mustangs of Las Colinas, Glen was an incredibly gifted artist and champion of African wildlife conservation.

Oct. 19: Women’s Business Council - Southwest Joins the City of Irving and Grow America to Support
The City of Irving, TX and Grow America are proud to announce a partnership with Women’s Business Council - Southwest (WBCS) to act as the Small Business Recovery & Resiliency Program lead service provider. As lead service provider, WBCS’ role is to work with selected applicants and conduct intake sessions to recommend business services tailored to their needs. These services include (but are not limited to) business training, website development, marketing, and accounting support.

Sept. 29: Irving’s Music on Main Returns for Fall Concert Series
Dance to the rhythm and beats of Tejano, country and rock and roll music at Irving’s Heritage Park, 217 S. Main Street for the Music on Main Fall concert series. Each Friday in October live family-friendly music begins at 7 p.m. on the Heritage Park stage.

Aug. 23: Irving’s “Movies on Main,” Free and Family-Friendly
As temperatures cool down, enjoy a movie under the stars on an enormous 15x20-foot screen! Movies on Main returns to Irving’s Heritage Park, 217 S. Main Street, for four Fridays in September showing family-friendly movies for free and with Spanish subtitles. From classics to new favorites, the 2023 lineup features something for every movie fan.

June 29: City of Irving Announces Bold Vision to Elevate Aquatics and Recreation
Four projects and one bold vision, Let’s Play Irving: Elevating Aquatics and Recreation, is Irving leadership’s vision to make significant improvements to several aquatic and recreational facilities. The projects include building Irving’s first multi-generational mixed-use recreation and aquatics community center that will have something for everyone.

April 17: The City of Irving Wins IDC Government Insights Smart Cities North America Award
The City of Irving is proud to announce that Irving Connects, the City of Irving's Smart Cities program, has won the IDC Government Insights’ Smart Cities North America Award (SCNAA) in the category of Next Generation Emergency Services. Irving was named one of two winners in the category for its Enabling Enhanced Interoperability for First Responders program.

Every Friday in April spend the evening dancing under the stars. The City of Irving Music on Main concert series kicks off on April 7 at 7 p.m. in Heritage Park, 217 S. Main Street. The free family event will feature live musical performances on the Heritage Park stage.

Jan. 11: City of Irving Honors Dr. Martin Luther King’s Legacy Jan. 15
Join the City of Irving in celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) and his legacy at the annual observance on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd. This year’s theme, Rise to the Level of Love, brings people together and encourages individuals to find the goodness in hardship.
