Irving Parks and Recreation hires Red Cross-certified lifeguards, ages 15 and older for part- and full-time summer and year-round positions at its aquatic facilities.

Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer and AED certifications.
Course Prerequisites:
- Must be age 15 or older and complete a swim test one week prior to class start or must have instructor approval.
- Swim 300 yards.
- Retrieve a 10-pound brick from a 7- to 10-foot depth, followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick.
- Tread water for two minutes, no hands.
