The Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) recently honored the City of Irving Water Utilities Department with its prestigious Gold Award for Exceptional Utility Performance. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in implementing the nationally recognized Attributes of Effective Utility Management.
AWMA cited the department's customer-centric ethic and its work to meet the needs of a growing and diverse community, including improving procedures in water quality sampling to implementing a new customer portal. AWMA also complimented the city as having one of the lowest rates in the region without compromising infrastructure maintenance and renewal, as well as the department's metering programs to ensure accurate billing and asset management.
