Beginning Monday, March 20 at 7 a.m., N. Britain Road, from Irving Boulevard to the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) railroad tracks, will be closed to thru traffic for demolition and new concrete paving. A new right-turn lane also will be constructed on westbound Irving Boulevard for N. Britain Road. Work is expected to last through the end of May, weather permitting.
Britain Road traffic will be detoured to Nursery Road and N. O'Connor Road. Motorists should expect traffic delays and seek alternate routes when possible.
This work is associated with the Irving Boulevard Reconstruction Project, a $32 million downtown revitalization project to redesign Irving Boulevard from Strickland Plaza to Sowers Road, through the city’s historic Heritage Crossing District.
