Construction is underway on the replacement of a 48-inch diameter wastewater line and a 36-inch diameter wastewater line that run along the east side of Riverside Drive between Northwest Highway and Las Colinas Boulevard. The crews will begin working every Saturday on the City of Irving’s Cottonwood Hackberry Interceptor Project through the end of summer 2023.
Additionally, beginning May 15, crews will work 24/7 to maximize the progress on the microtunneling project. The construction will be done underground; however, residents in the area may notice additional lighting, as well as compressors and truck noise due to construction work.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays in the area and use alternate routes when possible.
The $27.6 million project is estimated to be completed in the summer of 2024, weather permitting.
