On May 1 South Irving Library’s MiY (Make it Yourself) Zone launched a pilot lending program featuring select equipment from their digital creation collection. Photographers, video content creators, remote workers and other creative individuals will be especially interested in the selection of items available to check out through this service:
- DSLR camera: Shoot high-resolution photos of important events, products or nature without investing in pricey equipment. (Two kits are part of the MiY to Go inventory.)
- A webcam: Be seen and heard during online meetings or interviews with HD quality video.
- A cam link: Record live video from a DSLR camera straight into a computer for streaming or post-editing with a cam link. Perfect for content creators looking to record professional videos for online platforms or to enhance video quality for virtual meetings.
- Yeti microphone: Record broadcast-quality sound for podcasts, music, voiceovers and more with this simple plug-and-play device.
Users must have gone through the MiY Zone orientation process and have signed a waiver to be eligible to check out these items. Email: miyzone@cityofirving.org for more information. Users can check out only one kit at a time.
This project is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (Grant #LS-246193-OLS-20) to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act. (2021)
