Beginning Monday, Nov. 6, Weathered Street, between Weathered Circle and Fairbrook Street, will be closed to all traffic for work related to the Embassy Channel project. The bridge spanning Embassy Channel will be demolished and reconstructed.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2023.
This work is part of the Embassy Channel Drainage & Wastewater Improvements project, a $15.2M project to improve drainage along Embassy Channel from SH-183 to Rochelle Road, and Rochelle Road from Embassy Channel to MacArthur Boulevard. This flood mitigation project, in conjunction with the $28M MacArthur Boulevard Reconstruction Project, will reduce the flood risk in the area by removing approximately 273 residential and commercial structures from the 100-year floodplain limits.
