Rochelle Road Bridge Reconstruction Project

December 2022: Current Embassy Channel, with overgrown vegetation and crumbling cement

In January, the City of Irving will kick off a capital improvement project that requires a portion of Rochelle Road between Fairbrook and Stonebrook Streets to be closed for one year.

As part of the Embassy Channel drainage improvements, the Rochelle Road bridge will be demolished to widen and deepen the channel, install a 10-foot-by-7-foot box culvert, lower a 20-inch water line, lower a 15-inch sewer line and then construct a new bridge over the channel. The new bridge is scheduled to open to traffic in January 2025. This project is a part of the Municipal Drainage Utility (MDU) program and is a continuing effort by the City of Irving to alleviate flooding.
