Residents will be excited with new playground improvements at Senter Park, 901 S. Senter St., funded by Community Development Block Grants. Work continues to install a new playground system at Senter Park, 901 S. Senter St. The playground area will be closed to the public during the work, which is expected to be completed mid-March, weather permitting.
When completed, the playground will be expanded with more play activities. The play unit for ages 2 to 5 will be much bigger than the existing equipment, and it will feature a shade screen over the top. The play unit for ages 5 to 12 is designed to promote active and imaginative play while accommodating more children. The current play area surface of rubber tile and sand will be completely replaced with engineered wood chips to offer better durability to the surface.
