Residents recently attended a Community Meeting at Georgia Farrow Recreation Center, 530 Davis Drive, to provide input and ideas about a proposed update and expansion of the facility.
Located in West Park, Georgia Farrow Recreation Center is a vital asset to the neighboring community and has a long history of serving Irving residents of all ages. The facility, constructed in 1989, is slated for updates that will improve services for the entire community.
The City of Irving’s Parks and Recreation Department, working with the Planning and Community Development and the Capital Improvement Program departments, have identified needed improvements for this important facility. Currently, the addition of more than 9,800 square feet is planned, including a new gymnasium, locker rooms, restrooms and an expanded fitness room, as well as upgrades that will improve Americans with Disabilities Act accommodations.
In this excerpt from ICTN's "City Source," see how the City of Irving is gathering input as it plans the expansion of Georgia Farrow Recreation Center.
