Residents are invited to join the City of Irving Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Department for a neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 to discuss paving and utility improvements on Hawthorne Street, from the S.H. 356 service road to Pioneer Drive, and Abelia Street, from Thompson Street to Rogers Road. The meeting will be held in the First Floor Council Conference Room at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.
Work will include new water and wastewater mains, new pavement and new fire hydrant locations to provide better fire protection. The project is expected to start in July and, weather permitting, will be completed in May 2019.
This work is part of the City of Irving's "Road to the Future: $100 Million in 5 Years" program supporting road reconstruction and rehabilitation across the city.
