Hard Rock Road and Pioneer Drive: Neighborhood Meeting Feb. 13 to Discuss Phase 2A Improvements

Serve Your City

Residents are invited to join the City of Irving Capital Improvement Program Department for a neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 to discuss paving and utility improvements on Hard Rock Road, from the eastbound State Highway (SH) 183 frontage road to approximately 1,600 feet south of the Pioneer Drive intersection, and Pioneer Drive, from Esters Road to Hard Rock. The meeting will be held in the First Floor Council Conference Room at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.

Phase 2A work will improve Hard Rock to a three-lane undivided roadway and Pioneer Drive to a four-lane divided roadway, and include new sidewalks, driveway approaches, retaining walls, street lights and brick paver crosswalks. In addition, water and wastewater mains will be replaced, a new storm sewer system will be installed to improve drainage and fire hydrant locations will be updated to provide better fire protection.

This phase of the project is expected to start in July and, weather permitting, will be completed in October 2019.

Road to the FutureThis work is part of the City of Irving's "Road to the Future: $100 Million in 5 Years" program supporting road reconstruction and rehabilitation across the city.
