A public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Oct 23 in the First Floor City Council Conference Room at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd. to discuss street reconstruction on Hawthorne and Abelia Streets. In addition, a new storm sewer system and 31-foot wide new pavement with curbs and gutters will be installed, and the water and wastewater mains will be improved. The project is designed to improve drainage and water quality, as well as alleviate leaks in the lines, reducing maintenance needs and service disruption to residents. The affected areas are:
- Hawthorne Street, from State Highway 356 (Irving Boulevard) Service Road to Pioneer Drive
- Abelia Street, from Thompson Street to Rogers Road
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the presentation. The construction plans will be available for viewing.
