Prepare Your Vehicle for Extreme Weather

null

North Texas can experience extreme weather events without warning. It’s important to prepare vehicles for ice, sleet, snow and heavy rain that often occur from December to March.

  • Install good winter tires. Ensure each tire has enough tread.
  • Keep the gas tank full. A full tank keeps the fuel line from freezing.
  • Build an emergency kit with winter essentials, including warm clothing, a blanket and an ice scraper.

It’s also a good idea to stay off the road during and after a winter storm whenever possible.
