Irving Introduces New Friends

Four wood carvings donated to the city of Irving: Hawk, Owl, Eagle and Cardinal

Three hundred people voted on names for the city's seven wood carvings!

Meet our new friends:

  • Willow the Armadillo (Mountain Creek Preserve)
  • Carly the Cardinal (Lee Park Recreation Center)
  • Irving the Eagle (Parks and Recreation offices at City Hall)
  • Hannah the Hawk (Lone Star Trail entrance at Mt. Creek Preserve)
  • Otto and Otis the Owls (Heritage Senior Center)
  • Ralphie the Raccoon (Mountain Creek Preserve)
  • Sammy the Squirrel (Mountain Creek Preserve)

The city already had three statues. Back in November, the Texas Chainsaw Carver and Irving resident Rob Banda gifted the city another four. Residents were asked to choose a name for each carving. Thanks to everyone who participated. Residents are encouraged to visit the carvings and take selfies with the #IrvingMascots.
