Winterfest at the Valley Ranch Library

For the month of December, the Valley Ranch Library is bringing you magical events for Winterfest— holiday series of events for children, teens, adults and families! Guests can enjoy character visits, crafts, performances, music, films and more!

TEEN EVENTS – FOR GRADES 6-12 ONLY

GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATION | 6 P.M. DEC. 5

Join us this winter season to try your hand at architecture – using sweets! Feel the holiday spirit by making a fun, delicious gingerbread house. **Tickets required

STEM HOMEMADE ICE CREAM IN A BAG | 6 P.M. DEC. 12

Ever wondered how ice cream gets made? Wonder no more, as we recreate the process using plastic baggies, ice and sugar! Supplies limited.

NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS PARTY! | 6 P.M. DEC. 19

Love Halloween and Christmas? So do we! Join us for a spooky winter holiday party where we’ll eat snacks while creating Nightmare Before Christmas themed ornaments. Supplies limited.

SALT SNOWFLAKE PAINTING | 6 P.M. DEC. 26

Christmas may be over, but we don’t have to say goodbye just yet. Wave farewell to the holiday season and welcome a new year by painting salt snowflakes!


ADULT EVENTS – FOR ADULTS ONLY, CHILDREN WILL NOT BE PERMITTED

HOLIDAY THEMED COLORING | 7 P.M. DEC. 9, 16, 23 & 30

Do you enjoy Adult Coloring? If so, join us for a special holiday themed coloring event. We will feature holiday music, holiday themed coloring pages, bookmarks and color-your-own holiday cards. All supplies provided.

RUSTIC WOODEN CHRISTMAS TREE PAINTING | 4 P.M. DEC. 13

Get in the holiday spirit by painting and distressing your own rustic wooden Christmas trees. All supplies provided. 

COOK THE BOOK: 2ND ANNUAL COOKIE EXCHANGE | NOON DEC. 14

Join us for our 2nd Annual Winterfest Cookie Exchange. Choose a cookie or sweets recipe from our featured cookbook to prepare and share at this special version of Cook the Book: A Cooking Book Club. Registration is required. Please stop by the Valley Ranch Library’s Information Desk to register and select your recipe. Must be 18 or older to participate.

HOLIDAY SCENTED BATH SALT SCRUB | 4 P.M. DEC. 20

Join us to create your own custom holiday scented bath salt scrub. It makes a perfect holiday gift for you or a friend. All supplies provided.

SNOWMAN MASON JARS |11 A.M. DEC. 28

At this special Winterfest craft event, you will be creating your own snowman themed mason jars. All supplies provided.


FAMILY EVENTS – OPEN TO ALL AGES

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE | 7 P.M. DEC. 4

Families are invited to watch Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) and indulge in holiday themed treats.

KIDS CRAFTERNOONS | 11 A.M. DEC. 7

Kids in grades 1-5 are invited to create a themed craft project to engage in problem solving and creativity. Accompanying adults are encouraged to assist. **Tickets required

JINGLE BELLS, BELLS, BELLS | 7 P.M. DEC. 10

Families can come to enjoy an interactive holiday musical concert presented by Rochelle Robouin.

FAMILY MOVIE MATINEE | 2 P.M. DEC. 14

See The Nutcracker and the Four Realms on the big screen! Rated PG.

FLUTASIA | 7 P.M. DEC. 16

Get into the spirit of the season with our 4th Annual Holiday Concert featuring the Flutasia Flute Choir. 

PICTURES WITH SANTA | 11 A.M. DEC. 21

We will bring Santa, you bring your camera. **Tickets required

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET | 2 P.M. DEC. 28

See Miracle on 34th Street (1994) on the big screen! Rated PG.

NOON YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION | 11 A.M. DEC. 31

Enjoy Noon Year’s Eve craft stations and a bubbly Noon Year’s countdown.
