Are you looking for some free entertainment while you spend all your time cooped up inside? Irving Public Library offers five different digital download resources for library card holders. All you need is your 14 digit library card number and PIN.

Axis 360 is an electronic book service that gives you access to Irving Library’s eBook and digital audiobook collections. Browse for titles on the Axis 360 collection home pageor directly through the library catalog to find titles by author or genre. Borrow up to 5 titles at a time for 21 days.

Hoopla Digital is a media service with a collection including over 500,000 content titles in eBooks, digital audiobooks, comic books, music, movies and television shows.  With Hoopla you never have to worry about holds and wait periods, borrow titles anytime you want. We’re raising the number of items you can check out in March and April from 5 to 7 titles. You can borrow movies and TV shows for 3 days, music for 7 days and eBooks, digital audiobooks and comics for 21 days. Start browsing on the Hoopla Digital collection home page.

Flipster is a digital newsstand with on-demand access to your favorite magazines. Through Flipster, we provide 107 magazine titles straight from the newsstand, cover-to-cover, for all ages and interests. Get started on the Flipster home page (requires Irving Public Library card and PIN) or download the app to your device to start borrowing titles right away.

Freegal Music collection offers download or streaming access to more than 15 million songs and 40,000 music videos, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists. Library card holders in good standing have a weekly download limit of five songs or two videos. You can also stream up to three hours of music each day. Find music on the Freegal Music collection home page and download the app to listen anywhere.

Kanopy is a video streaming service for libraries with one of the largest and most unique collections in the world, featuring over 30,000 movies, documentaries, and indie and foreign films from over hundreds of producers including The Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, Kino Lorber, and PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers. Users are limited to 7 checkouts per month and you have up to 72 hours to watch movies and videos after you click play. Go to Irving Kanopy Streaming home page to get started.

Kanopy Kids has a diverse selection of educational and entertaining content that range across Movies, TV Series, Animated Storybooks, Live Action, and Animated favorites. The collection of films and TV series inspire and inform, helping children develop social emotional skills and reinforce valuable learning topics, such as history, science, and new languages. Kanopy Kids is appropriate for children ages 2 and up, with a focus on Kids age 2-8.

New York Times online gives you access to one of America’s premiere newspapers for free through the Irving Public Library. Get started with a complimentary code for 72-hour activation which can be used from your personal device.

Online Classes - If your kids are home for an extended period, it’s not lost time for their studies. Visit our LearningExpress service, which has a School Center with class tutorials for elementary, middle and high school students, and test prep resources for the ACT and SAT. If you are looking for something new to learn, stop by Lynda.com, which offers thousands of technology, creative and business classes for you to watch online.
