Contact IPD's Special Events When Organizing Food, Donation Drives

During this unusual time for the public, the Irving Police Department (IPD) commends those who are organizing food and supplies distributions to those in need. The City of Irving and IPD are heartened by and support these efforts, but also recognize that these events can cause a tremendous increase in traffic density, accidents, blocked access to area businesses and general security concerns. Managing these issues can exceed the capacity of on-duty personnel when they are not a coordinated effort.

To avoid problems, Irving Police asks that organizations hosting food and supplies delivery events and drives contact IPD’s Special Events section at (972) 721-2484 least five days before the event. This allows the department to be involved in the planning and maintain an appropriate level of service for the city.
