The City of Irving, along with Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas (WFS) and the ChildCareGroup (CCG), are offering families affected by COVID-19 emergency childcare assistance payments. These payments are not loans; they are full grants paid directly to the childcare provider and no repayment is required. View the flier.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 28, applications will be accepted online to qualified families. Households/Guardians must:

  1. Have lived within the City of Irving on or before March 1, 2020.
  2. Have been or will be required to return to work at place of employment. Working for an employer while based at home is not eligible.
  3. Show loss of income due to pandemic, such as loss of job, reduced hours, reduction in pay, increased healthcare expenses, added childcare expenses, etc.
  4. Not have received additional childcare assistance from CARES federal stimulus via another agency.

If approved for assistance, the childcare provider will be directed to invoice CCG, which will pay on behalf of the applicant. The childcare provider does not have to be based in Irving, but must be licensed or registered with the State of Texas.

Visit the Coronavirus Youth Assistance Services page for more information on documentation and verification requirements.
