The Library is Now Open!

IPL is Now Open-01

The South Irving, West Irving, and Valley Ranch Libraries are now open to the public for browsing and checking out items, borrow a public PC, or use the library’s fax/scanning and wireless printing services. No reservation is required to visit the library, although buildings will be periodically closed throughout the day for staff to clean and disinfect common areas.

Library operating hours

  • Monday to Thursday, 10 am to 7 pm
  • Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm

To keep everyone safe, each library requests visitors observe the following guidelines:

  • Everyone wear a mask covering nose and mouth at all times in the building
  • Keep at least 6 feet distance from other guests (except family members)
  • Wash hands regularly, or use available hand sanitizer
  • Use the library’s self-service kiosks when checking out items
  • If you’re feeling sick or coughing, please stay home

Due to the social distancing requirements, a limited number of public PCs will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

For convenience, guests can also book ahead to use a public PC using our online Computer Reservation Portal:

The following library services are unavailable at this time:

  • Study rooms, meeting rooms, and quiet or magazine rooms
  • Activity areas including the MIY Zone and Discover Zone
  • Tables for working or studying

Guests can continue to pick up held items by using each library’s drive-thru or curbside service. Masks are optional when using the drive-thru or curbside services.
