Library's Summer Reading Challenge Begins June 1

SRC 2021 Newsflash

Make summer reading a pet project! SRC includes prizes, mission badges, animal-themed programs, craft kits and more, all for free.

Children, babies, teens and adults are invited to participate, with each category having its own reading log and special missions. Readers and listeners who go to the finish are able to earn fantastic prizes and get a chance at a grand giveaway.

Among the summer plans: A reading buddy adoption kickoff, summer camp for teddy bears, scavenger hunt, storywalks and photo opportunities. In addition, go online to visit with service dog heroes, join a pet parade, learn about animals from experts and connect with other readers at one or more of the many book clubs.

Start tracking progress by registering online at ReadSquared, or in person by picking up a printed log at any library location. Visit the Irving Public Library webpage at CityofIrving.org/SRC for all the details, including programs, rules and prize information.
