Is the fluoride in my drinking water safe?

Irving’s water abides by the recommended best practices endorsed by various U.S. public health organizations, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It has concluded that fluoride in water helps prevent tooth decay, improves oral health and helps maintain bone structure.

In addition, the fluoride concentration in Irving’s water is slightly below the recommended level of 0.7 parts per million (ppm) endorsed by the U.S. Public Health Services and is well below the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's maximum level of 4.0 ppm. Community water fluoridation is recommended by nearly all public health, medical and dental organizations including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, U.S. Public Health Service and the World Health Organization.
