All fire apparatus are ALS (Advanced Life Support) equipped and carry at least one EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic to respond to all minor and major medical calls. At times, all ten ambulances may be busy with other medical calls or may be too far to respond within the standard five-minute response time and therefore a fire engine or fire truck is also dispatched to respond.

Yes, if the smoke alarm is too high for the resident to reach and they are disabled or elderly and are not able to climb on a ladder to replace the batteries. This does not apply for rental properties.
The Irving Fire Department, in conjunction with the Mayor and several Irving organizations conduct a school supply drive every summer to provide supplies to the most needed children in Irving ISD for the beginning of each school year.
