  1. Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month: Big Dogs Adoption Event

    October 2, 2018 - October 31, 2018 @ Adoption Kennels

    In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog month, Irving Animal Services is offering all large dogs - 40 pounds and larger - for a discounted adoption fee of only $25 for the entire month of October. Normally, the adoption fees range from $70 to $100.

    Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid form of identification.

    Animals being adopted will be:
    • Up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies if the animal is over four months of age.
    • Spayed or neutered or $50 voucher towards spay / neuter (depending on surgery availability).
    • Given a general dewormer and flea prevention .
    • Microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch.
    • Heartworm tested (dogs over six months of age).

  2. Affordable Spay/Neuter for Pets - Appointments Required

    Schedule your appointment to have your pet spayed or neutered at an affordable cost. Pets are dropped off by 8 a.m. and picked up the same day around 4 p.m. Services provided by Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP).

    Available services include vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing, heartworm prevention and flea/tick control. A full set of annual vaccinations for a cat or dog is just $25! Services provided by Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP).

  1. Friday Night Library Grimm Carnival and Haunted Fairytale Forest

    On this spook-tacular night, Grimm fairytales come alive at the library! Begin with a Trunk-or-Treat from 7 to 8 p.m., craft and game stations from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and tours through the Haunted Fairytale Forest* from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Browse the library's collection and check out haunting reads until 10 p.m. *The Haunted Fairytale Forest is not recommended for babies or children who scare easily. Limited to one tour per person. All activities subject to availability.

  1. Fall Carnival at Northwest Park

    Children of all ages are invited to the Fall Carnival Series organized by the Parks and Recreation Department. Activities will include carnival games, prizes, cakewalks, bounce houses and concessions. Carnival tickets will be sold for 25 cents each or five for $1. Call each recreation center for details.
