  1. Memories in the Making Exhibition

    August 25, 2018 - September 30, 2018 @ Irving Arts Center

    Artwork by patients at Villages on MacArthur who participate in the wellness program “Memories in the Making®” (MIM) will be featured in this exhibition. MIM is an art program developed by the Alzheimer’s Association that recognizes that even those who suffer significant cognitive impairment related to Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia can still communicate through art. Exhibition located in the front foyer/hallway gallery. The exhibition will be accompanied by a reception on Sept. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. Gallery Hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon., Tues., Wed. and Fri.; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thur.; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat.; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sun.

    “The Red Pashmina” is an intriguing story of a psychiatrist and two of her patients that takes attendees on an unforgettable journey. As the patients undergo regression therapy, their memories come alive on stage and experience different eras in India’s picturesque past – from a quaint fishing village to an opulent palace, merchant caravans in the desert to a typical imperial officer’s club, a dark, dank dungeon to a magnificent ancient temple! Complete with live music, dance and drama, “The Red Pashmina” tells the story of serendipity through the ages ... Or is it destiny?

    Keep Irving Beautiful's 27th annual Trash Bash park Cleanup. We are also hosting a can food drive to benefit Crisis Ministries. While supplies last volunteers that bring a can food item will receive a free event shirt. All volunteers are welcome to have a free hotdog lunch with chips and a drink.
