In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog month, Irving Animal Services is offering all large dogs - 40 pounds and larger - for a discounted adoption fee of only $10 for the entire month of October. Normally, the adoption fees range from $70 to $100.
Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid form of identification.

Adopt your own homecoming queen and king during Irving Animal Services “Homecoming Week” Oct. 15-19.
All adoptable animals 1 year and older at the Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC) will have their adoption fee waived.

Watch the live-action adventure Dracula Untold on the big screen, featuring a 15th-century Transylvanian ruler who makes a bargain allowing him to defeat his enemies but cost him his humanity. Rated PG-13. Teens ages 13 and above and adults only. No children, please.

Teens and their families will receive practical tips and tools to develop safe driving habits at this free, education event presented by AAA Texas. Activities will include interactive exhibits and games, vehicle simulators, vendor booths, guest speakers, informational videos and free goodie bags. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend.

The Environmental Career Symposium will provide residents and visitors the opportunity to meet and engage with environmental professionals in the public and private sectors. High school and college students, as well as adults wanting to enhance or change careers into the expansive and innovative industry of environmental careers are invited.
Two discussion panels are part of the agenda:
• How to Choose the Right Environmental Career for You – Topics include choosing a degree, public vs. private, how to break into the industry, and more.
• A Day in my Life – Topics include typical tasks and responsibilities, office vs. field work, skills you need every day, and more.
Attendees must bring a picture ID (driver's license, school ID, etc.) for entry to the symposium.
