  1. Blind Date with a Book Contest at Valley Ranch Library

    February 1, 2019 - February 16, 2019 @ Valley Ranch Library Adult Fiction Book Display Area

    Check out a book from the Valley Ranch Library adult fiction display by February 17 for a chance to enter the Blind Date with a Book Contest. Each book is masked with a wrapper containing clues as to the content, and you won't know the title you've selected until you take it home for the "grand reveal." Then, by February 28, return the comment card enclosed with the book to Valley Ranch Library, and be entered into a March 1 drawing for a prize gift basket. You don't need to be present to win. Limit three entries per person. Must possess a valid adult Irving Public Library card to participate.

  2. Cinema13*: Mission Impossible-Fallout

    February 9, 2019, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Valley Ranch Library Meeting Room

    Come early to get the best seat for a screening of Mission Impossible: Fallout (PG-13, 2018). During a mission, Ethan Hunt must choose between completing the task and protecting his team, putting billions of lives at risk. The team is put on administrative leave, but after receiving a threat, Hunt and two teammates decide to finish the mission alone. With the aid of allies from his past, Hunt faces off against agents from both sides. Cinema13* is for adults and teens ages 13 and over.

    Hosted by the City of Irving, residents can learn about different forms of energy to power their homes. A variety of vendors - including solar, wind and other energy providers - will be available with demonstrations and to answer questions.

  1. Tiny Tinkers @ Valley Ranch Library

    February 9, 2019, 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Valley Ranch Library Meeting Room

    Children in preschool through Kindergarten (ages 4-6) will be introduced to coding and building concepts using stories, DUPLOs, Codepillars, and Beebots. Participants are challenged to complete simple and engaging activities in this 45-minute program. This program is supported by the Friends of the Irving Public Library, through an award provided by Irving ShareTank.

    Space is limited to 24 pairs of participants (parent and child) and tickets are required. Please contact Valley Ranch Library for more information.
