Throughout National Poetry Month in April, allow your creativity to flourish by writing your own verses on a "leaf." Next, place the leaf on the Poet Tree, which is "planted" in the interior glassed-in area of the library. All ages.

Note: This class will be conducted in Spanish. It is designed for participants who Spanish is their native language and speak little to no English. It is not a bilingual class. This class is for women and girls who would be unable to attend an English version class.
Open only to females age 12 and older living in the DFW area, the focus of the RAD class is realistic self-defense techniques. The course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, and then progresses to the basics of hands-on self-defense training. RAD is designed to engage participants in a series of hands-on, realistic, self-defense tactics and reinforce the power of the voice.
A parent/legal guardian must sign waivers first day of class for participants under 18 years old, unless prior arrangements are made. Participants should bring their own snacks and drinks during the class. Space is limited. Preregistration is required, and no walk-ins will be accepted the day of class
