Children in preschool through Kindergarten (ages 4-6) will be introduced to coding and building concepts using stories, DUPLOs, Codepillars, and Beebots. Participants are challenged to complete simple and engaging activities in this 45-minute program. This program is supported by the Friends of the Irving Public Library, through an award provided by Irving ShareTank.Space is limited to 24 pairs of participants (parent and child) and tickets are required. Youth and teens can enjoy an evening of swimming and fun at the indoor pool at Heritage Aquatic Center (200 S. Jefferson St.). This pool party will feature an egg hunt in the pool with loads of special goodies and prizes, including toys, chocolate bunnies and tickets to area attractions. Complimentary pizza and soda will be served. Please wear appropriate swimwear and bring a towel or change of clothes. Open to middle school and high school students. Free admission with valid IPAR card or school ID.

Heritage Park will spring to life during the Citywide Egg Hunt at 9:30 a.m. April 6. The Irving Parks and Recreation Department will hide thousands of toy-filled and candy-filled eggs for children, ages 10 and under. During the event, attendees can experience inflatable rides and craft activities. The Easter Bunny also will be present for pictures so don’t forget your camera.Admission and parking are free.For more information, visit IrvingEvents.org.

While we were super excited to bring this garden talk to you at Canyon Crest Park, it seems that the weather is no longer in our favor. Don’t fret, the event will continue at the Valley Ranch Association office (8830 N. MacArthur Blvd, Suite 101, Irving 75063).
Nancy Payne will speak on a diversity of plants and flowers that attract pollinators such as hummingbirds, bees, and of course, butterflies. A light breakfast of mini muffins and fruit will be served and crafts will be available for the kids while supplies last.
All ages are welcome to learn about butterflies in this Gardening for Wildlife workshop, presented by the Valley Ranch Association. Bubbles will be sprayed throughout the park during the event, and light refreshments will be served.
