Free Cat Adoptions

June is Adopt-a-Cat Month at the Irving Animal Care Campus, 4140 Valley View Lane. Adoption fees for cats 1 year and older are waived during June, and kittens are available for a $50 adoption fee. Vaccinations, spay/neuter, leukemia test and microchip included with all cat adoptions.

All adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

Like a Rolling Stone Multi-Arts Camp No. 3

Ages 6-12

This multi-arts camp gets things rolling with spirograph, crystal and clay creations, before taking a dive into the literary arts with creative writing. Then “Rock Me Amadeus” with Intro to Violin. Encore! Encore!

Preschool of Rock (Intro to Theatre/Creative Dramatics) Mini-Camp

Ages 4-5

Using creative dramatics, songs, games and teamwork, junior campers will bring to life short scenes inspired by the hit musical, “School of Rock.” The week concludes with a special presentation for families and friends.

Find Inner Peace: Meditation (English/Spanish)

Discover the inner self, understand your connection to the universe, and achieve your highest potential through the practice of meditation. Presented by DFW Sahaja Yoga Meditation. Meets each Wednesday. Non-Spanish speakers and all ages are welcome.

CLASS FULL: Girls' Summer Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Class

Update: This class is now full.

Open to all females ages 12 to 19 years living, working or visiting the DFW area, the focus of the RAD class is realistic self-defense techniques. The course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, and then progresses to the basics of hands-on self-defense training.

RAD is designed to engage participants in a series of hands-on, realistic, self-defense tactics and reinforce the power of the voice. Keep in mind this is a very physical class, and it can be strenuous.

The course is taught by Irving police and detention officers who are nationally certified RAD instructors. Class size is limited, and registration is required.
