June is Adopt-a-Cat Month at the Irving Animal Care Campus, 4140 Valley View Lane. Adoption fees for cats 1 year and older are waived during June, and kittens are available for a $50 adoption fee. Vaccinations, spay/neuter, leukemia test and microchip included with all cat adoptions.
All adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

This multi-arts camp gets the rock star treatment with topics such as “Self Portraits as Rock Stars”; “Rocky Mountain High: Animals and Their Rocky Habitats”; and “Signs of the Times: Guitar Collages.” “Art with Vinyl Records” and “Intro to Improv” round out this star-studded bill.
The first of three Teen Scene camps includes rock painting, creative writing, architecture/design and fresco portrait painting. Half-day morning or afternoon options are available.

Learn how to take advantage of Mother Nature to keep insects out of your garden.
Organic techniques, such as releasing beneficial insects that hunt down and devour pests, will be discussed. Participants will learn about "companion planting," the practice of pairing plants to repel or trap pests and attract beneficial insect types. Presenters also will discuss how to protect yourself from mosquitoes and other biting insects without DEET or other chemicals.
