  1. Clear the Shelters Day

    Irving residents should mark their calendars and clear their schedules for Aug. 17 - Clear the Shelters day. Irving Animal Services will team with NBC5, Telemundo 39 and NBCUniversal, along with shelters across North Texas and the rest of the country, for a national adoption event that helped more than 98,000 animals find homes in 2018.

    Organizers hope residents will join the effort to make the 2019 event even bigger and better.

Educators are invited to shop early, from 9 a.m. to noon, to be appreciated for the work they do courtesy of Irving Library staff and the Friends of the Irving Public Library. There will be refreshments, a chance to meet with library staff and an opportunity to sign up for a library card on-site.   1. After School Program - Registration Continues Until Spaces are Full

    August 6, 2019 - September 30, 2019

    Registration for the upcoming After School Program will continue at area recreation centers as space permits. Elementary school students will participate in a variety of activities including gym games, crafts and homework time in a safe and supervised environment. An afternoon snack is provided daily. The program is offered on school days between the hours of 3:15-6 p.m. at Cimarron, Georgia Farrow, Lee, Mustang, Northwest and Senter Park recreation centers. Space is limited for these programs.
