Looking for love? There’s nothing like the unconditional affection of a pet, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 14 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 15, adoptable animals 1 year and older will be available for only $10 at the Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC) .

Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.
Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.
Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

With influences from all different styles of music, the audience might find it difficult to describe a live Tejas Brothers show. Sometimes described as “Tex-Mex Honky Tonk,” the Tejas Brothers put on an original show that is a true Texas original.
