Looking for love? There’s nothing like the unconditional affection of a pet, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 14 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 15, adoptable animals 1 year and older will be available for only $10 at the Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC) .

Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.
Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.
Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

Children in grades 1-5 are invited to create a themed craft project to engage in problem solving and creativity. All materials are provided. Accompanying adults are encouraged to assist. Can you sing, dance, juggle or play a musical instrument? Register now to be a part of Irving’s annual teen talent competition. Interested participants must register to audition by Feb. 7.
